4/20/2008- Harbor Contribution

Using money that we collected during March and April, along with contributions and entrance fees for our mini golf tournament, SHG has contributed $800.00 towards The Harbor's general fund. The money will most likely be used to repair windows and install new appliances. We will have a full appropriations report in the coming weeks.

9/20/07- Russian Braille Books Project
SHG is happy to announce that we've committed over $1400 towards purchasing new Braille books for children of the Shaumiana school (Orphanage #1) in St. Petersburg, Russia. The entire process will take several months, so the kids should get their books by Christmas. In the meantime, some of the kids will be visiting the publishing house to explore future career and post-high school vocational opportunities. We are hoping to do similar project with other orphanages for blind children; please contact us if you wish to contribute. Updates will be on the website in the coming weeks.

Summer 2007- New Computer
The Share and Help Group is pleased to have assisted in buying a new computer for the girls at the Harbor. With the help of the computer, the orphanage will now have another outlet to explore the world and enhance their knowledge. For a look at the computer, click on the pictures section.

2/10/07- New Glasses for Kids at Orphanage #40!
Share and Help Group is proud to announce the success of its biggest project to date. Using the money raised during our Holiday Fundraiser, as well as the donations of several very generous individuals, we were able to purchase sixty new pairs of glasses for children at Orphanage #40 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The directors of the orphanage were simply delighted; the glasses are very durable and high quality, and should last the kids for quite some time. Images from Russia are available in our Pictures section. We would like to extend many thanks to Alex Krutov, our excellent logistics and information coordinator. None of this would have been possible without his assiduous efforts. On behalf of all our representatives, associates, and board members, I would also like to personally thank everyone who contributed to our fund over the past several months. We would never be where we are today without all of your support.

1/25/07- New Floors for the Girls' Apartment
Several months ago, we made an eight hundred dollar donation to the Harbor, one of our partner organizations in St. Petersburg, Russia. Thanks to the excellent coordinating efforts of Alex Krutov, The Harbor was able to purchase and install new flooring for their girls’ apartment. We hope that this is the first of many collaborative projects between our two organizations. Snapshots of the new flooring are available under the Pictures section.

6/20/06- Donation to The Harbor
This week, Share and Help Group is proud to announce the first monetary donation to the Harbor in St. Petersburg. The Harbor is a transitional house for emancipated orphans in Russia (www.theharborspb.org). By providing a check for $100.00, we feel that this will be our next small step in helping Russian orphans and developing mutual friendship and cooperation between our two organizations.

5/18/06-Share and Help Group Announces Successful
Orphanage Toy Project

In the past week, several Share and Help representatives traveled to St. Petersburg and delivered toys to The Orphanage for Children With Visual Disabilities The toys included several sets of play dough products, which the kids greatly enjoyed. Upon receiving them, the children immediately began to excitedly unwrap their presents in a gala of excitement and bliss.
This particular orphanage houses approximately one hundred and twenty kids, all of who have certain visual disabilities. All of the children are between the ages of 4 and 8 and are from the St. Petersburg area. We at Share and Help feel that this commencing project will serve as a great basis for more future contributions and donations to the Orphanage for Children with Visual Disabilities.
